Manuel Montelongo Giorgana has developed his career in Marketing, Communication, Public Relations, National and International Promotion. Former Director in several Mexican companies, he has become the MTB Montreal office director in Montreal the 30th of December 2008.
This appointment illustrates the increasing importance of the Canadian market to Mexico. Manuel Montelongo Giorgana possesses a vast experience in the Mexican tourism market, with responsibilities in AMS (Former Association of Mexican Spas) (2003-2005), Hotels (1990-1997) as Communications Director and as National promotion Director in charge of public relations. As examples, Presidente Intercontinental Hotels, Sol Melia Hotels & Resorts and Mexicana Airlines took part of this experience.
In addition, Manuel Montelongo Giorgana has been responsible for the promotion of Mexico City, and tourist destinations of Los Cabos, Loreto, Bahia de Huatulco for the organisms Sectur (1998-2002, 1979-1981) and Fonatur (1982-1989).
Manuel Montelongo Giorgana brings with him more than 20 years of experience within the tourism industry of Mexico. He won an Adrian Award at the 2007 HSMAI gala (Hospitality Sales and Marketing International Association), for the communication and public relation strategies he developed for Sol Melia Hotels & Resorts.
Born in Veracruz, Manuel Montelongo Giorgana graduated from the UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico) in 1979 with a degree International Relations. Furthermore, he obtained a Diploma from the ITAM (Technological Autonomous Institute of Mexico) with a specialization in Marketing Techniques and a Diploma in Spa Management from the ITESM situated in Mexico city.
