Anuncian realización del Festival Rutas Panamericanas/ Panamerican Routes

La compañía teatral Aluna Theatre presentará un nuevo festival de teatro y derechos humanos: Rutas Panamericanas/Panamerican Routes, del 15 al 27 de mayo del presente año, durante el cual Aluna recibirá a algunos de los artistas teatrales interdisciplinarios más innovadores de la diáspora latinoamericana. Todos los eventos se llevarán a cabo en Theatre Passe Muraille.

De nuevo García Lorca con Yerma, en Toronto.

Apoyando el teatro hispano / latino o como quieran llamarnos, mi marido y yo acudimos a ver la puesta en escena del Grupo Crisálida, con Yerma, que forma parte de la trilogía de Federico García Lorca.
Cuando en los años 80s vi en escena, La Casa de Bernarda Alba con Ofelia Guilmáin (fallecida el 14 de enero del 2005), en la ciudad de México, la magia del teatro me dejó boca abierta ante la profesionalidad, no solo de La Guilman, como le decían sino de todas las otras mujeres que la acompañaban. Después en 1993 vi la misma obra en la ciudad de Quebec, montada por quebecuas y latinoamericanos, mi desencanto fue muy grande.

Canadian Ballet Youth Ensemble initiates cultural tours in Guardalavaca, Cuba

Guardalavaca, Cuba - Anything can happen when eight individuals barely acquainted with one another book a tour to a destination previously unexplored in Cuba, the Caribbean's most beautiful island. Initially everyone wondered what the experience would be like. However leaving all inhibitions behind at Toronto's International airport proved to be an effortless task. The group's festive mood quickly dispelled any and all reservations.

By the time the flight reached Guardalavaca, in Holguin Province, the Canadians were enthusiastically establishing strong friendships. They would last throughout the tour and beyond. Upon arrival at the fabulous Paradisus Rio de Oro Resort and Spa the management lavished its guests with an extraordinarily warm welcome. Violins, champagne, mojitos and tasty canapés. Such exotic mixture was bound to further cement everyone's friendship links. It also helped to dismiss as routine the tiring, one-hour long ride from the airport to the resort. The best was still to come: the astonishing natural surroundings and the fabulous beauty of the Paradisus Rio de Oro Resort and Spa became an instant feast for the eyes and mind.
